Happy new year. everyone! Hope everyone is well. We rang in the new year with a new review of the album in TV Week magazine across Canada: Check it out:
HONEY AND THE MONEY
THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM
Richly melodic pop-rock by Vancouver-based duo Leila Harrison and Matt Clarke. Shimmering vocals and full-band arrangements distinguish the pair from soulless syntho/electro/sample-driven crud of the same genre. Think contemporized mid-‘70s Fleetwood Mac or, for that matter, Buckingham Nicks. Well-conceived and professionally produced.

(Maximum/EMI) FOUR STARS
Happy Holidays everybody! Be safe, have fun and we’ll see you in the new year. Lots of excitement planned for 2009. May the new year bring you success, happiness, and good health.
Peace on earth,
Leila & Matt
The new video for our first single, “Still Beautiful” is done and available to view now! Check it out now on the right side of this page. You can also view it in high quality at Vimeo.com HERE or at YouTube HERE. The video was directed by Christopher Redman, and was shot over two days this past August in Vancouver with a lot of help from some talented friends. We hope you enjoy it!
Our song “Still Beautiful” has been selected as “Track of the Day” for Pop on the site Garageband.com. Click here to check it out now. Also of Garageband.com noteworthiness, last week, “Still Beautiful” was selected for the “Best Drums in Pop” Award for the week. A tip of the hat to our drummer, Kristian, for that. Sadly, due to that award, his rate is now too expensive for us to be able to afford to work with him.
In anticipation of the release of “The Elephant in the Room” to stores on September 23, we are offering a limited time FREE download of the album’s first single, “Still Beautiful.”

We’re busy getting ready for the release of our album on September 23, and in the mean time, we are playing some shows in Calgary, Edmonton and Saskatoon! Check the Tour section for details.

Our song “Still Beautiful” has been featured in the 2008 fundraising video for the Kids Cancer Cares Foundation of Alberta. The KCCFA is a really amazing organization devoted to helping and supporting families who are fighting childhood cancer. We are very happy and honored to be a part of their work. Please check out their website and find out more about what they do: www.kidscancercare.ab.ca.

Well, it is Canada day. A happy one to everyone.
I am currently sitting around with an ice pack to my face, nursing my left cheek after some dental surgery yesterday. The necessary rest has given me some time to contemplate the $1000 the surgery cost me and the real value of our country’s free health [...]
Well, it’s a sad day. As I’m sure are all well aware, the King of Pop has passed onto the other side as of this afternoon. I am hesitant to contribute to the flood of opinions pouring out at the rick of seeming obvious and insincere. And I am well aware that this blog entry [...]
This is an amazing thing. Karen Armstrong (who is an amazing woman. Check out her books if you haven’t read them already) won the TED prize last year, and as part of the prize she gets to make “One wish to Change the World.” So her wish was to get some of the greatest minds [...]
